A 34-year-old man, identified as Audu Ahmed, on Thursday pleaded guilty before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court to stealing the side mirror of a Lexus SUV car worth N35,000 at the Tin Can Island Port.
Ahmed, who is a resident of No 9, Mokoyo Street, Ajegunle, is facing a two-count charge of wandering and stealing.
The port prosecutor, Alexander Esebamen, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on June 28, 2019 at about 4:57pm.
“The defendant was found wandering at Five Star Logistics Limited, Tin Can Island and could not give a satisfactory account of himself,” Esebamen said.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 168 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
Magistrate Olorunfemi Oluwatope adjourned the case till July 15, 2019 for facts and sentence.
