A 32-year-old man identified as Muritala Ibrahim, has been arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing N250,000 at Flour Mills, Apapa.
Ibrahim is facing a one-count charge of stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Donjour Perezi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on August 23, 2018 at Flour Mills, Apapa, Lagos.
“The defendant stole N250,000 belonging to one Mrs Nkiru Ezema, with the pretext of supplying 50 bags of flour to her, a representation he knew to be false,” Perezi said.
According to him, the offence is punishable under section 280 (1)(a) and (b)of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge against him.
Magistrate O.A Erinle granted the defendant bail in the sum of N150,000 with two responsible sureties who are gainfully employed.
The sureties, according to the Magistrate, must furnish the court with proof of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
She adjourned the adjourned the case till September 17, 2018 for mention.
