Minimum wage committee submits report to Buhari
A committee set up by the Federal Government to counsel it on the implementation of the new N30,000 new minimum wage has submitted its report to President Muhammadu Buhari.

The 24-member committee, which was inaugurated by the President on January 2 this year, is chaired by an economist, Bismarck Rewane.

The committee submitted its reported barely a week after the Senate passed the National Minimum Wage Bill, which the President is expected to sign into law soon.

Both the House of Representatives, which has also passed the bill, and the Senate approved N30,000 as new minimum wage for both Federal and State government workers as against the the N27,000 recommended by the
Federal Government in a Bill it sent to the National Assembly in January.

Receiving the report of the Rewane committee at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Monday; President Buhari assured that the report would be reviewed expeditiously by the government.
