Motorboy jailed two months for stealing phones in Apapa

A 22-year-old motorboy, Quadri Balogun, was on Thursday sentenced to two months imprisonment by an Apapa Magistrates’ Court after pleading guilty to stealing two phones valued at N30,000.

The prosecutor, Inspector Feddy Asu told the court that the defendant committed the offence on December 19, 2018 at about 5:30pm at Eleganga Plaza in Apapa, Lagos.

“The defendant stole one Coolpad android phone and Tecno K7 phone total valued at N30,000 property of one truck driver, Quadri Alade,” Asu said.

According to him, the offence is punishable under section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

Upon the guilty plea by the defendant, Magistrate M.O Olubi sentenced him to two months imprisonment.
