MWUN rejoices with Sanwo-Olu on re-election

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has congratulated Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on his re-election as the Governor of Lagos State.

At the governorship election held on March 18, Sanwo-Olu polled 762,134 votes to defeat Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party who scored 312,329 votes and PDP’s Abdul-Azeez Adediran who scored 62,449 votes.

MWUN President-General, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, said in a statement made available to SHIPS & PORTS that Sanwo-Olu won his re-election bid because he enjoys the love and support of majority of Lagosians.

“We in the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria wish to felicitate with the amiable Governor of Lagos State on his well-deserved victory during the poll in the state.

“On behalf of my executives, I wish to express our profound readiness to work and synergize with the Governor in all areas of the maritime industry towards achieving the best of economic values for the state and the nation at large. On this note, we say congratulation Governor Sanwo-Olu,” Adeyanju, who is also the Deputy President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), said.
