NAGAFF Tincan launches caretaker committee

Members of the newly appointed caretaker committee set up to oversee the running of the Tincan Chapter of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), pending the appointment of a new set of executives, has been formally launched to the public.
The committee members were formally presented to the public with a grand celebration last Thursday at the chapter secretariat in Apapa Lagos.
Chairman of the committee, Chief Azubuike Ekwezor, during his welcome speech, expressed thanks to the high command of the association for the opportunity to serve.
He said the mandate of the committee is to put right the wrongs done by the immediate past executives of the chapter and move the chapter forward despite all odds.

“Today opens a new page in the history of this chapter. Most friends of this chapter and active practitioners may have known that many things went wrong in no distant past and in its wisdom the National Headquarters briskly took constitutional steps to arrest the situation thereby preventing further damages and deterioration…My team and I are here to fulfill a mission to move NAGAFF Tin-Can Island Port Chapter forward no matter how daunting the challenges. We are determined and resolute in achieving this feat” Ekwezor said.
He also appealed to those who may have been victimized by the past executives of the chapter to set aside their grievances urging them to bring their complaints to the committee even as he reiterated that his administration will run an open door policy.
“To those that feel offended if any, in anyway, we appeal to them to calm their nerves. Our hands are very wide open to welcome them into our fold. No withchunting, threat, victimization or even intimidation from us. To those that fell victim to the executives recklessness, our doors are equally open to accommodate your complaints and possibly fashion out a way of resolving whatever they had done wrong in the past” the new NAGAFF Tincan administrator stated.
Addressing journalists after the occasion, the NAGAFF National President, Chief Eugene Nweke, expressed confidence in the committee to deliver its mandate.
He however said that the committee should not be mistaken as the chapter executives iterating that it is only an adhoc committee.
“When we go for our AGM, in November to be precise, NAGAFF will lift formally ban on elections. That will now open window for every chapter as there will be elections next year. So by March there’ll be a new leadership all over” Nweke stated.
