Nigeria Merchant Navy Officers Association inaugurates new executives

 

The Nigeria Merchant Navy Officers & Water Transport  Senior Staff Association has inaugurated a new set of executives to oversee its affairs.

The inauguration took place at the Mission to Seafarers Center in Apapa Lagos, on Thursday.

National President of the association, Engr Bob Yousuo, expressed appreciation to the various union members who have supported the cause of protecting seafarers in the country.

Also, the President General, Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Adewale Adeyanju lauded the association for its giant strides over the years.

He pledged the union’s continuous support for the merchant navy association for the progress of seafarers in Nigeria.

Adeyanju said seafarers should be recognized and celebrated alive and at death because of their contributions to world trade.

The newly inaugurated officers include Engr Bob Yousuo (re-elected as National President), Comrade Yukubu Zurkarneni (Deputy National President), Captain Dagogo (Vice National President, Offshore Zone), Engineer Wale Ogunshola (Vice National President, Shipping Zone) and Captain Isaac Esiekpe (Vice National President, Fishing Zone).

Others are Comrade Victoria Wakili (Vice National President, NIWA Zone), Engr Reginald Onyenobi (National Treasurer), Engr Edewoh Bernard (National Auditor I), Comrade Jekiri Festus emerged (National Auditor II) and Comrade Ayorinde Ebunola (National Trustee I), Engr Lawrence Olopade (National Trustee II), Captain Benjamin Bekes (National Trustee) and Engr Alalade Mathew (Ex-officio).
