Nigeria shuts borders again for rescheduled polls

Ahead of Nigeria’s rescheduled presidential and parliamentary election
scheduled to hold on Saturday, the Federal Government has directed the closure of all land borders in the country.

The Comptroller General, Nigeria Immigration Service, Mohammad Babandede, who disclosed this in Abuja on Thursday, said the Minister of
Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, issued the order.

He said the land borders will be shut at 12:00 noon on Friday, February
22 to restrict human and vehicular movements across them during the election, and reopened at 12:00 noon on Sunday, February 24, 2019.
