Nigerian Navy Raids Drug Den in Apapa, Arrests 27 Suspects

The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Beecroft has dismantled a criminal hideout in Gidan Drama, along Malu Road in Apapa, Lagos.

According to Commodore Paul Nimmyel, Commander of NNS Beecroft, credible intelligence received on April 5, 2025, revealed the presence of suspected drug peddlers in the area. This prompted the swift deployment of Operation MESA personnel.

Represented by Captain Idongesit Udoessien, the Commander stated that the raid led to the arrest of 27 suspects—24 males and 3 females—and the seizure of hard drugs and other illicit substances.

He emphasized that the operation reflects NNS Beecroft’s commitment to combating the spread of illegal drugs, especially among youths, whose health and future are at risk.

The suspects and recovered items have been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation.
