Chief Executive Officer and President of the Norwegian shipping company Odfjell, Jan A. Hammer is going to step down, the company said in an announcement yesterday.
The decision has been attributed to “different views on the strategic direction for the company”.
Odfjell said that its Board and Jan A. Hammer have agreed that he will step down as President/CEO with immediate effect.
The Board has appointed Tore Jakobsen as new President/CEO for an interim period.
Hammer has served as the CEO and President at Odfjell SE since May 2009.
Hammer has been with Odfjell Asa since 1985 and has held various management positions within the company, both in chartering and terminal activities.
The Norwegian shipping company recorded a loss of USD9 million in the third quarter despite an increase in revenues.
