On June 25, Nigeria joined the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and other maritime nations of the world to celebrate the 2019 Day of the Seafarer with special focus on gender equality. The colourful event, hosted by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), had in attendance the wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo, who led others on the campaign for women participation in seafaring.
