Man steals vital documents, laptop from Naval officer

A 28-year-old truck driver, Olaolu Talabi, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly assaulting one motorboy at Apapa.

Talabi is facing a one-count charge of assault.

The prosecutor, Inspector Perezi Donjour, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on October 2, 2018 at about 10am at Burma Road, Apapa.

“The defendant unlawfully assaulted one Chinoso, surname yet unknown. He stabbed him on the chest with an iron rod. As a result, he sustained injury,” Donjour said.

According to him, the offences are punishable under section 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

Upon the non-guilty plea by the defendant, Magistrate O. A Erinle granted him a bail in the sum of N100,000 with two responsible sureties in like sum.

One of the sureties must be a blood relation to the defendant.

She adjourned the case till January 14, 2019 for trial.
