Police arraigns truck driver for driving against traffic in Apapa

A 30-year-old truck driver, identified as Adamu Mohammed, was on Monday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos for allegedly driving against traffic.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Friday Inedu told the court that the defendant committed the offence on January 26, 2018 at about 2:30pm along Ijora overhead bridge.

According to him, the offence committed was punishable under Law No 4 section 20 Vol 45 Lagos State Traffic Law, 2012.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge against him.

Magistrate Temitope Babalola granted the defendant bail in the sum of N10,000 with one surety.

He adjourned the case till February 28, 2018 for mention.
