The port of Singapore has moved lower container volumes in March compared to the same period of last year, according to preliminary estimates from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
In March this year, Singapore handed 2.52 million TEU of throughput, down 8% from 2.74 million TEU seen in March 2015, MPA figures showed.
Last month’s volumes, however, rose by 5.9% compared to 2.39 million TEU recorded in February this year.
From January to March 2016, Singapore port registered a total throughput of 7.39 million TEU down 9.1% compared to 8.13 million TEU in the previous corresponding period.
