SIFAX Group has dismissed claims circulating in a viral video that one of its subsidiaries, Ports and Cargo Handling Services Limited, is selling over 3,000 containers.
The company described the allegations as baseless and misleading.
In a press statement, SIFAX Group clarified that the individual in the video, who identified himself as Oloja Oluwasegun, was falsely portrayed as an employee of the company.
Although he wore a SIFAX-branded reflective jacket, the company confirmed, following an internal investigation, that he has never been employed by SIFAX Group or any of its subsidiaries.
The misuse of its branded attire was described as “misleading and concerning.”
The company also addressed the accusations of container sales, stating, “SIFAX Group operates in full compliance with industry regulations and standards, and at no time have we authorised the sale of containers, whether empty or overtime, as alleged in the video.”
SIFAX Group urged the public to avoid sharing unverified information, emphasising the potential harm of such rumors.
The organisation revealed that it is collaborating with law enforcement and relevant agencies to identify and hold accountable those behind the misinformation.
