Tanker with 33,000 litres of diesel explodes in Lagos

A tanker, with 33,000 litres of diesel has exploded in Lagos after the tanker collided with a BMW car along Oshodi-Apapa expressway.

The incident occurred at Toyota junction, Oshodi-Apapa Expressway on its way towards Oshodi.

Fire fighters and emergency agencies battled to put out the fire.

General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Adesina Tiamiyu said the tanker, with registration number TUT 258 XA, was carrying 33,000 litres of diesel belonging to Bovas Petroleum.

He said the tanker crashed with a BMW car with registration number (LSD 462 CZ), after losing control.
