Tianjin Port to introduce autonomous driving

An autonomous driving demonstration zone will be built in Tianjin Port to improve the efficiency of international shipping in north China, according to Tianjin Port (Group) Co., Ltd.

The company will establish a fleet of over 50 autonomous vehicles under standardized safety procedures, and a dispatch system and traffic management platform will be created to maximize the port’s self-driving technology.

The port will speed up the commercial use of autonomous driving in the demonstration zone to fully automate logistics and transportation.

In October, Tianjin Port completed the transformation of its container terminal system, which is now fully automated and utilizes the Internet of Things, 5G and artificial intelligence technologies.
