TICT debunks report on 155 containers

The Commercial Manager, Tin Can Island Container Terminal (TICT), Mr. Richard Akinbosotu, has debunked report in a maritime journal (not Ships & Ports) that he accused the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, Alhaji Dikko Inde Abdullahi, of attempting to remove 155 containers illegally from the terminal.

“The report contains in its entirety total lies and falsehood fabricated to suit the evil machinations of the writer. At no point in time did I or TICT accuse the Customs Comptroller General of ‘attempting to fly 155 containers’ from our facility.

“It is important that reporters cross-check their facts to avoid misleading the public. TICT and Customs are partners in progress and we will not allow those who benefit from disharmony in the system to create one where it does not exist,” Akinbosotu stated in a statement sent to Ships & Ports this morning.
