The Tincan Island Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has recorded a historic revenue haul of ₦16.4 billion in a single day, following the deployment of the B’odogwu digital platform under the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS).
The landmark figure was collected on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, and marks the highest single-day revenue ever generated by the Command.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Oscar Ivara, in a statement released in Lagos on Thursday, attributed the feat to the transformative impact of the B’odogwu system, which has significantly streamlined port operations through a centralised, digital interface.
“This milestone is a strong reflection of the efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness that B’odogwu brings to our operations,” Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Frank Onyeka, said. “By integrating all key elements of Customs and port processes, the system enables faster processing, accurate valuation, and real-time monitoring of cargo clearance, thereby eliminating unnecessary delays and bureaucratic bottlenecks.”
Onyeka said licensed Customs agents and stakeholders now enjoy improved access to payment platforms, enhanced service delivery, and a more predictable operating environment — all contributing to increased revenue and trade efficiency.
He also noted that the achievement goes beyond the numbers, highlighting the broader success of the Command’s ongoing collaboration with key industry players, including terminal operators, shipping companies, regulatory agencies, and licensed Customs agents.
