A 32-year-old merchant naval personnel identified as Ayo Friday was on Monday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly parading himself as an official of the Nigerian Navy.
Friday is facing a one-count
The prosecutor, Sergeant Olusegun Kokoye told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 23, 2018 at about 5pm by Festac First Gate.
According to him, the offence is punishable under section 380 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
However, the defendant
Magistrate L.Y Balogun granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety. The surety must furnish the court with proof of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
