The #EndSARS protest spread to Apapa on Monday as several protesters carrying placards with various inscriptions stormed the Lagos Port Complex Apapa and the Tin Can Island Port Complex, paralysing movement in and out of the port premises.
At the Lagos Port Complex Apapa, the protesters blocked the entrance to the port, stopping movement of vehicles into and out of the port.

At the Tin Can Island Port, the protesters stormed the office premises of the Nigeria Customs Service, as many of the officers deserted the premises.

Also, youths under the aegis of United Apapa Forum have threatened to join the protest from Tuesday (today).
Patron of the forum, Victor Nangibo told SHIPS & PORTS that the protest by the members of the group would converge as early as 6am with all entry points to the ports shut.
He said, “We are staging a protest tomorrow. We don’t care who the protest will affect because we are going to shut all the entry points to the seaports and we don’t know when it will end.”
He said the planned protest is also against the continued marginalisation of the youths in Apapa by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
He said NPA’s marginalisation has rendered youths in the Apapa community jobless adding that some of the youths have also been victims of the SARS brutality.
“We have other agitations. We have been marginalized for a long time. Our youths are the most marginalized in the sector. We live in Apapa where the two major seaports are situated yet we don’t have jobs and when we write to the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA), they will ignore us and instead, they will start sending SARS operatives looking for us.
“As soon as we write to NPA that we will not talk the marginalisation of the youths in Apapa anymore, the next thing we see is SARS operatives coming to arrest our boys. A lot of our youths are now in prison. And we are accusing the NPA for this because that is where we often have threats from,” he said.
