Comptroller Kayode Kolade, the newly appointed Controller of the Seme Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, has pledged to build on and improve the achievements of his predecessors.
He made this promise during the handover ceremony on Tuesday, where he took over from Timi Bomodi, who was recently promoted to Assistant Comptroller General of Customs.
Kolade expressed confidence in his ability to fulfil his responsibilities, citing his extensive experience in various enforcement roles. He solicited the support and cooperation of officers and staff, assuring them that everyone would be included in the process.
The outgoing Controller, Bomodi, thanked the Comptroller General of Customs and the management of the NCS for the opportunity to serve and for his subsequent elevation. He described Kolade’s deployment as strategic and expressed optimism that the command would excel despite challenges.
The new Controller is a seasoned customs officer with extensive experience, having served in various capacities across several customs formations. He has received numerous awards for his outstanding achievements, including a commendation letter for exceptional performance in anti-smuggling operations.
