NPA, Comet Shipping Consolidate Dominance in 2025 Maritime Cup

 

Defending champions Comet Shipping and three-time title holders the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) strengthened their commanding leads in Groups A and B respectively at the ongoing 2025 Ships & Ports Maritime Cup.

On Thursday, NPA’s Dantsoho Jets produced a spirited performance, securing a dramatic 3–3 draw against 2019 champions ENL Consortium. The result keeps NPA at the summit of Group B on seven points from three outings, having won their previous two matches.

Comet Shipping were equally impressive, dispatching Apapa Bulk Terminal Limited (ABTL) with a confident 3–0 victory to preserve their perfect record. With nine points from three matches, they remain firmly in control of Group A.

Both fixtures, played at the NPA Sports Ground in Surulere, Lagos, delivered high-quality, entertaining football that kept supporters fully engaged throughout.

More action awaits fans today: the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) will face LTT Coastal and Marine Services at 9:00 a.m., followed by a midday clash between 2010 champions Micura Services and Dangote Port Operations.

Both matches are scheduled for the NIS Pitch at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
