Ziakade Patrick Akpobolokemi was sacked as Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) by President Muhammadu Buhari on July 16, 2015. Shortly after his sack, there were revelations of series of alleged financial scams running into billions of naira at the agency. This culminated in the prosecution of Akpobolokemi and several other top management staff of the agency by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with the embattled former NIMASA DG facing criminal charges before five different high courts in Lagos.
This video brings back to memory Akpobolokemi’s attempt to resist arrest by officials of EFCC in front of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos on December 14, 2015.
