All is set for an epic final match of the ongoing 2018 Maritime Cup competition between the football teams of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), fondly called ‘Hadiza Babes’ by fans, and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), fondly called ‘Dakuku Bombers’, on Tuesday.
The match, slated for 4pm at the NPA Sports Ground, Surulere, Lagos, promises to be an exciting encounter as both teams are playing in the final of the 10 years old competition for the first time.
NIMASA defeated defending champions, Nigeria Customs Service 5-4 in a penalty shootout on Saturday afternoon to book their final match ticket in the competition.
NPA qualified for the final match of the prestigious and highly competitive tournament on Saturday evening after a hard won victory over 2009 champions, Nigerian Navy. The match, which ended 1-1 at regulation time, was decided on penalty kicks with NPA emerging winner 5-4.
The third place match will be played earlier at 12noon at the same between Customs and Navy.
