Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Sunday presented the staff of office to Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup as the newly elected Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland.
The ceremony marked a significant moment in Ijesaland, as Governor Adeleke urged the new monarch to foster unity and development within the region and beyond.
“Now that the time of competition is over and you have become the father of all, I urge you to rally round all citizens of Ijesaland for the development of the area and the state at large,” Adeleke stated.
The governor encouraged Oba Haastrup to leverage his extensive experience and network for the benefit of Ijesaland, emphasizing the need for collective efforts in driving growth and progress in the community.
Adeleke also highlighted his administration’s developmental projects in Ijesaland and called on Ijesa sons and daughters to continue contributing to the advancement of their homeland.
Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, a distinguished public servant, previously served as deputy governor of Osun State under the late Isiaka Adeleke, the first Executive Governor of the state and elder brother to Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The governor prayed for a peaceful and prosperous reign for the new monarch, expressing confidence in his ability to lead Ijesaland into a bright future.
