Nigeria is reported to have generated at least $10 million from the sale of quality materials to Korean shipyards in the recent time.This came as the Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari yesterday unveiled a new vessel of the Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas company billed to join in the fleet of the organization.Besides, Nigeria also produces 22million tonnes of LNG per annum whIch is soled to North America and Europe by the ships.Named LNG ABUJA 11, the vessel which was built by Samsung and Hyndai industries was specifically billed for Bonny Gas company, a subsidiary of the NLNG Ltd.While performing the “naming ceremony “in Seoul South Koreaa, Mrs Buhari said the acquisition of the new vessel would add to the growth of export related businesses that would also improve revenue generation for Nigeria.“For example, more than $10 million dollars was generated from the export of quality Nigerian materials to Korean shipyards”, he said.She also stated that Nigeria and South Korea under the present administration shared the same vision in the development of human capital and job creation.She expressed confidence that despite challenges in the global energy sector, the two countries would continue to occupy important positions with respect to international energy security and development.She said that although Nigeria was undergoing a process of transformation to improve the quality of life of the people, it was also necessary to provide avenues for businesses to achieve their full potentials to compete grow and deliver long term value.She expressed happiness that Nigeria had input in building of the vessel.“I stand by this principle because that is how great countries like south Korea were built.“Nothing makes me proud than the knowledge that nigerians and nigerian companies actively participated and benefited directly from the construction of the new (ship) vessel. The ship has nigeria written all over it”, she said.A statement by her Director of media, Nadabo added that “a good number of Nigerian youths were part of the crew of the new vessel”.
