Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has expressed the determination of the ministry towards the actualization of the mandates of agencies under his supervision. The minister gave the assurance following the allocation of the ministry’s complex at Marina, Lagos to the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria, CRFFN as its new head office, to be known as the freight forwarders headquarters.
Head, Corporate Affairs of the council, Chinyere Uromta said in a statement, a copy of which was made available to SHIPS & PORTS DAILY, that the Minister’s approval was conveyed by the Director, General Services of the Ministry.
“This gesture suggests that the movement of CRFFN headquarters to the new place has become paramount and urgent for effective delivery of her regulatory and enforcement functions and for her prompt attention to the training needs of the practitioners as the complex would contain training and seminar halls,” the statement said.
In his response, Registrar of the Council, Sir Mike Jukwe expressed appreciation to the minister for the initiative and reaffirmed the Council’s readiness to deliver on its mandate.
