Apapa CAC charges promoted officers on rededication to duty

Some officers of the Apapa Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), who benefited from the promotional exercise, were last weekend decorated with their new ranks.

Among those decorated was the former Public Relations officer of the command, Emmanuel Ekpa who was promoted to the rank of an Assistant Comptroller of Customs.

Area controller of the command, Comptroller Jubril Musa while decorating the officers advised them to be more committed to their duties and see their promotion as a call to higher responsibilities.

He told the officers to see their promotion as a reward of hard work and be ready to give back to the Service as according to him, ‘to whom much is given, much is expected’.

“On behalf of the Comptroller General of Customs and the management, I want to congratulate all of those that have been promoted and also to remind you that the management of the service of conscious of the fact that, it can always challenge people that appear challengeable. So it is a reward of hard work but I must also remind you that to whom much is given, much more is expected.

“You are been elevated to higher rank; you should also know that it is going to be accompanied by higher responsibilities. So I want you to prepare yourself for the challenging assignment that is ahead of you.  I can only pray that God give you additional wisdom and stamina to cope with the pressure of the elevated office that you are going into,” he told the officers.

He said the command will also miss some of its officers including Comptroller Wale Adeniyi who was recently deployed from the command to the Customs Staff Training College, Abuja following the promotional exercise.
