The Singapore authorities are continuing their clampdown on errant bunker suppliers with Transocean Oil the latest to lose its bunker supplier and bunker craft licenses.
The Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) said it had revoked Transocean Oil’s licences from Monday, November 6.
MPA said it had discovered falsifications and discrepancies in checks conducted on the bunker supplier in March and April this year. “MPA’s investigations revealed that there were several falsifications of records and discrepancies in the stock movement logbooks on board the bunker tankers operated by Transocean, which breached the terms and conditions of their bunker supplier and bunker craft operator licences,” it said.
At the end of August the Singapore authorities barred Panoil Petroleum and Universal Energy from bunkering in the world’s largest marine refuelling port.
