Former Minister of Information, Chief Alex Akinyele is to be conferred with a special award of recognition as the doyen of Public Relations by the Nigeria Customs Service.
In a letter dated October 22, 2013, the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Dikko Abdullahi, said that the special award was in recognition of the contributions of Chief Akinyele to the development of public relations not only in the Customs Service but in Nigeria is a whole.
According to the letter, Chief Akinyele would be formally conferred with the award at the opening ceremony of a public relations capacity building programme tagged: “Team work: Necessity and Mechanism for all Public Relations Officers of NCS and Heads of Public Relations of other security and regulatory Agencies in the country,” which will take place at Grand Hotel in Asaba, Delta State, tomorrow.
