Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has hailed the proposed N73bn Zonal Office and Training School of the Nigeria Customs Service at the Gateway Agro-Cargo International Airport as a strategic move to cement the state’s status as Nigeria’s industrial hub.
During a site visit with Customs Comptroller General, Adewale Adeniyi, Abiodun emphasised the project’s significance in enhancing the state’s investment opportunities, particularly with the upcoming Kajola Inland Dry Port and Olokola Seaport.
The governor highlighted the importance of the Customs’ presence, given the state’s plans for a Deep Sea Port and Dry Port, which will boost economic activities and improve lives.
Abiodun appreciated Adeniyi’s commitment to the project, stressing its vital role in ensuring seamless import and export processes.
The Comptroller General announced that the N73 billion project would create hundreds of jobs and contribute to the state’s economic growth. He also revealed plans for a Customs University in Lagos.
Adeniyi praised Ogun State’s support for the project, emphasising its alignment with the state government’s vision to transform the economy.
