Customs Reaffirms Commitment to Transparency, Merit-Based Promotion

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, has reiterated the Nigeria Customs Service’s dedication to transparency and fairness in promoting deserving officers.

During an inspection visit to one of the Customs examination venues in Abuja on Monday, Adeniyi emphasised the Service’s commitment to maintaining rigorous standards and transparency in the promotion process; ensuring tight security and integrity in the examination process; promoting officers based on merit and performance and ensuring inclusivity through technological provisions for officers posted abroad.

Adeniyi acknowledged the challenging nature of the process due to limited vacancies but reassured officers that promotions will be granted fairly, based on merit.

The promotion exercise, according to him, is crucial to maintaining the Service’s high standards, and every eligible officer will be promoted based on their performance.
