The Western Marine Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Tuesday said that the duty paid value of goods seized by the command between September and October stood at N24.23 million.
A breakdown of the goods seized by the command was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos by its Public Relations Officer, Mrs Ngozi Okwara.
According to the Command, over 200 bags of rice, loose sales and kegs of oil were seized in September.
It said that the command seized about 70 cartons of turkey, 2, 200 bags of rice as well as vegetable oil during the period.
The document quoted the Comptroller of the Command, Mr Johnson Gabriel, as saying that the command was committed to the war against smuggling along the creeks under its jurisdiction.
