Eid el Fitr: MWUN leader celebrates with Muslims

Terminal operators have done well, must be retained by government, says MWUN leader 

 

The President-General, Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Adewale Adeyanju has congratulated Muslims on the occasion of Eid Mubarak.

The celebration is being held by Muslims after the Ramadan fasting and prayers came to an end in the holy month.

Adeyanju called on Muslims across the world to use the season of Eid Mubarak to reflect on the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad to rejuvenate their lives in accordance with the tenets of Islam.

In a statement made available to SHIPS & PORTS by MWUN Head of Media, Comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna. Prince Adeyanju, described Islam as a religion of peace. He said every Muslim is expected to reflect on the character of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, who taught the principles of peace, love, and kindness towards one another.

The labour leader, who doubles as the Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), also admonished Muslims to be steadfast in their prayers and daily supplications to fulfill the tenets of Islam as recorded in the Holy Quran.

He also task Muslims to pray for a better Nigeria.

“In all our political and social adversities in the country Allah is not unaware and it is only through our prayers and supplications that we can surmount all for a healthier society,” he said.
