The “wellness at workplace” initiative of the management of Lagos Port Complex (LPC), Apapa got a boost last week with the donation of gym equipment by Eko Support Services Limited, a top logistics service firm in the port.
While presenting the equipment to the Port Manager of LPC, Hajia Aisha Ali-Ibrahim, General Manager of Eko Support Services, Seni Edu said his company was very impressed to see that the port management was concerned with the wellbeing of its workforce, by establishing a fully equipped gym. He said his company felt the need to support the initiative because of its health benefits. He enjoined port workers to ensure all round wellness by exercising, eating well and sleeping well.
Ali-Ibrahim, in appreciation of the logistics service provider’s gesture, noted that
Eko Support Services Limited is the first stakeholder identify with LPC in the gym initiative.
She disclosed that the gym is open not only LPC officials, but to all workers in the port including the staff of terminal operators, shipping companies and government agencies.
The General Manager Western Ports of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Architect Abiodun Gbadamosi, who was represented at the event by the Assistant General Manager Audit, Mohammed Kolo, also commended Eko Support Services for backing the project.
