Chairman of the recently dissolved Caretaker Committee set up to temporarily administer the affairs of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Tin Can Island Port chapter, Azubuike Austine Ekwezor, has been elected substantive chairman of the chapter.
Ekwezor was yesterday elected unopposed as chairman of the chapter.
Ekwezor had administered the affairs of the chapter for six months as caretaker committee chairman when the Uche Nwabude-led executives, who were also appointed to administer the affairs of the chapter year, were suspended for allegedly engaging in activities that were detrimental to the image of the asociation.
The new NAGAFF Tin Can chapter chairman was elected alongside eleven others.
While Ekwezor had a smooth sail, Mustapha Aboki and Ken Iyoha slugged it out for the vice chairmanship position with Aboki emerging winner with 228 votes over Iyoha’s 90 votes. Deacon Kalu Dike emerged Secretary with 241 votes beating Stanley Ejiogu who secured 171 votes. Ifeanyi Emoh was elected Financial Secretary while Patrick Ofoegbu won the position of Treasurer of the chapter.
