Ex-MAN Oron Administrator, Engr Olu Akinsoji for burial Feb. 2 

 

The family of late Engr Ibukunoluwa Olukayode Akinsoji, a former Administrator of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN) Oron, has announced that the remains of the late maritime icon will be laid to rest on February 2, 2024.

Late Engr Akinsoji, who died on 16th January at the age of 79, was a renowned marine engineer and Nigeria’s Alternate Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) from 2001 to 2003. Prior to that time, he served as the Administrator, Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN), Oron from 1992 to 2000 and as the Government Inspector of Shipping from 2000 to 2001. He retired from the Federal Ministry of Transport in 2005 as the Director, Shipping Services.

He also served as Chairman of the Committee on the Establishment of a National Carrier set up by former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi in 2016.

The funeral arrangements released by the family indicate that a funeral wake for the late marine engineer will be held at 4pm on Thursday 1st February at Cathedral Church of St. Peter, Ake, Abeokuta, Ogun State while the funeral service will hold at 10am the following day at the same church.
