EXCLUSIVE: New NPA Boss Abu Dantsoho Unveils 'Kitchen Cabinet' 

 

Abubakar Dantsoho, the newly appointed Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), has made his first set of appointments. The appointed officers are the aides in the Managing Director’s office who will wield significant influence behind the scenes during his tenure.

The new appointments were contained in an internal memorandum with reference number MD/13/MCORRES/VOL.XX/654 dated 26th July 2024.

In the memo obtained exclusively by SHIPS & PORTS, the new NPA Managing Director retained three key staff from his predecessor’s team: Ikechukwu Onyemekara as Technical Assistant on Protocol, Ojarikre Rita as Senior Personal Secretary, and Chindaya Abdulmumuni as Assistant General Duty Officer.

New appointees to the Managing Director’s office include Engr. Richard Unde, Special Assistant to the MD; Amusa Omolola, Technical Assistant Protocol (to report to Onyemekara); Oluwaseun Femi-Okanlawon, Technical Assistant, Marine and Operation and Aimu Hadi, Technical Assistant on Result Delivery and Compliance. Others are Jamilah Haladu, Technical Assistant, Legal and Engr. Aliyu Helma Abubakar, Technical Assistant, Engineering and Technical Services.

Those who worked in the former Managing Director’s office but have been reassigned to other departments include Adamu Michael, Technical Assistant Marine and Operation; Kabiru Abubakar Daniya, Executive Personal Assistant to the MD; Engr. Lamuwa Sadiq Abubakar, Technical Assistant, Engineering and Technical Services and Tebu Esuga, Technical Assistance, Compliance.

Dantsoho, who was appointed by President Bola Tinubu on July 12, 2024, assumed office last Monday. Upon assuming office, he had stated that his goal is to reposition the NPA for increased productivity, greater efficiency, and improved revenue generation.
