Ijaw leader, Chief Beck Hitler, has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to prevail on the military to desist from further attacks on Ijaw communities and innocent residents in Gbaramatu Kingdom, as they are peaceful and law abiding Nigerians.

Hitler, who spoke in Warri, said, “I am calling on President Buhari to call the Nigerian Army to order, because innocent residents and people in Gbaramatu are being constantly victimized and harassed by the Nigerian military for crime they never committed.

“It is the responsibility of the Federal Government to provide adequate security and safety for innocent people and residents in Gbaramatu kingdom, who are bonafide citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Therefore, the people should not be maltreated, subjected to unnecessary sufferings and hardship by the military for any reason whatsoever.

“The invasion of some communities in Gbaramatu kingdom on Saturday morning by soldiers had caused tension among the people.”
