Kwara Customs Command generates N10bn in five months

 

The Nigeria Customs Service, Kwara State Command said it has generated well over N10 billion revenue between January and May 2024.

The Customs Area Controller of the Command, Faith Mathew Ojeifo, who disclosed this in a statement issued in Ilorin on Thursday, said that the amount is over 40% higher than the revenue collected in the corresponding period of 2023.

“Within the period under review, I rejigged my operation teams which had led to 21 seizures of different prohibited items.

“The items seized included 507 bags of foreign rice, one unit of used vehicles, 1,055 pieces of used tyres and 164 jerrycans of PMS of 25 litres with the total duty paid value of N35.5 billion,” he said.
