Unidentified gunmen, suspected to be Lakurawa terrorists, have attacked and killed two Customs officers and a local resident in Bachaka, a border community in Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The spokesman for the Kebbi State Police Command, SP Nafiu Abubakar, confirmed the attack on Wednesday, stating that it occurred on Tuesday.
He added that the specific unit or formation of the deceased Customs officers was yet to be determined.
“Yes, there was an attack, which resulted in the killing of two as-yet-unidentified Customs officers and one resident of Bachaka village,” he said.
The State Police Commissioner, Sani Bello, who visited the scene, reaffirmed the commitment of security forces to tackling criminal elements.
He emphasized that the attackers’ actions indicated their weakening state due to sustained security operations.
The attack reportedly occurred barely 24 hours after combined security forces neutralized two Lakurawa terrorists in Kebbi.
