A 30-year-old man identified as Kingsley Njoku was arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos for allegedly stealing one water pump and three pieces of iron rail valued N120,000 property of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) on Friday.
Njoku pleaded guilty to the three-count charges bothering on conspiracy, stealing and entering the port premises without NPA pass.
The port prosecutor, Sergeant Alexander Esebamen told the court that the accused committed the offence on March 8 at about 1.30am; stealing one water pump and three pieces of iron rail that barricade the overhead bridge in the port.
According to the prosecutor, the offences contravened sections 409, 285 (1) and 398 (1) of the criminal laws of Lagos State, 2011.
The Magistrate, Mrs Osho Adebiyi adjourned the case to March 21 for facts and sentence.
