Man pleads guilty to stealing truck batteries

India arrests Nigerian, four others with 120g of drug

 

A 32-year-old man, Ali Sani, on Tuesday pleaded guilty to stealing three truck batteries at Ajegunle before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court sitting in Lagos.

Sani was arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing. 

The prosecutor, Inspector Francisca Jobs, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on February 10, 2020 at about 8am at Idowu Street, Ajegunle, Lagos.

“The defendant conspired together with others at large to steal three heavy duty Monbat motor batteries valued at N150,000 property of one Akeem Aderemi,” Jobs said.

According to her, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

Magistrate Adenike Alaka adjourned the matter till February 25, 2020 for facts and sentence.
