Dockworker docked for stealing car parts at PTML 

court

A 40-year-old dockworker, Kabiru Onusholu was arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court on Friday for allegedly stealing parts of an exotic car.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge brought by the prosecution against him.

The prosecutor told the court that the defendant committed the offence on May 10, 2017 at about 10:30pm at PTML Terminal, Tin Can Island Port, Apapa. He allegedly stole two car headlight chromes valued at N10,000 from one Lexus car R300 with Chassis No 004290, “shipped to Nigeria in custody of PTML”.

The offence, the prosecutor said, contravened section 285 of the criminal laws of Lagos State, 2011.

The Magistrate, Mrs Alaka granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned to June 6, 2017 for mention.
