The Maritime Reporters’ Association of Nigeria (MARAN) yesterday saluted its Patron and Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive of Sifax Group, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, MON, on his 51st birthday.
MARAN President, Mr. Bolaji Akinola, while extolling the virtues of Afolabi, said that he remains a shining example and role model to the youths of Nigeria.
“Dr. Taiwo Afolabi is a phenomenon. His career in the maritime industry, which spans about three decades, is an extraordinary story of a young African entrepreneur who consistently proved in numerous ways that a single individual can indeed make a difference. His life is a good compass of what resourcefulness, positive energy, constructive engagement, persistence, courage, determination, focus, will power, visionary leadership and sheer stamina can accomplish within a short period. He remains a unique bridge between the powerful and less powerful and a guru of immense influence within the maritime industry,” Akinola stated.

The MARAN President said that more than it being the fruit of tenacity and entrepreneurial savvy, Afolabi’s ascendancy in the maritime industry is both a tribute to the boundless energy of youth and a glimpse of what can be achieved when youth’s inherent potential is allowed to blossom in an atmosphere of freedom.
The MARAN President wrote in his message to the Sifax Group boss: “As our Patron, we thank God for His abundant grace and blessings upon you. You have indeed been a great blessing to us and millions of other people. May you live the next half century with the same fun and attitude as you did in the first one. Happy Birthday!”
