Two men, Mohammed Ahmed (22) and Sani Oseni (27) were on Thursday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing one motorcycle belonging to a dock worker, Mohammed Saliu.
Ahmed and Oseni are facing two-count charge bothering on conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Edet Ekpo told the court that the defendants committed the offences on July 7, 2018 at about 6am at No 37, Warehouse Road, Apapa.
“The defendants conspired together to steal one Bajal motorcycle red in colour valued at N125,000 property of one Mohammed Saliu,” Ekpo said.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.
The first defendant pleaded guilty to the charges while the second defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate Nurudeen Layeni granted the second defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The sureties according to the Magistrate must furnish the court with proof of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
He adjourned the case till July 26, 2018 for facts and sentence for the first defendant.
