Rescuers pulled out more than 20 bodies from the sea off northern Senegal on Wednesday after a Europe-bound boat loaded with migrants sank, according to officials and local media reports.
Speaking with local media, Saint-Louis regional governor Alioune Badara Samb, said the authorities have been “witnessing lifeless bodies wash up” the shores.
The number of passengers on the boat remains unknown, though some have put it at about 200.
