Aeroporti di Roma (ADR), the operator of Italy’s Genoa Airport, has received a binding offer from MSC Group, a Swiss-Italian shipping company, to acquire a 15% minority stake in Società Aeroporto di Genova Spa. The proposal comes after ADR expressed its willingness to sell its stake to enable potential synergies and development plans.
According to ADR, MSC’s entry into the shareholding structure aligns with the strategic direction pursued by the public shareholders and Chairman Alfonso Lavarello. The transaction is expected to close once the customary conditions are met.
Genoa Airport handled 1.27 million passengers in 2023, a 4.6% year-on-year increase, and reported revenues of $30.8 million.
