A university don, Dr Aminu Hassan, has identify external influences of Multinational oil corporation and their respective countries behind the increasing corrupt practices in the Nigerian oil and gas sector.

Speaking at a Public lecture on corruption in the Nigerian oil and gas industry at the Federal University Dutsinma, Hassan explained that the foreign countries explore the nations weaker laws to continue to perpetuate their dirty practices.

He said their engagement of improperly registered companies as middleman that served as their frontiers makes them safe to continue to tap from the illegality without been hold accountable.

He argued that our nations weaker laws must be seriously and critically reviewed so that losses and unprofessional attitudes are addressed.

Hassan who presented a new Dual Competence Model that could be used by accountants who most of the times find it difficult to uncover fraud at the oil and gas sector.
